Watchora is a local-first iOS app for personally tracking anime, movies, and TV shows in one library. This Privacy Policy explains what information Watchora stores, what information may be sent over the network, and how that information is used.

Summary

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Watchora stores your personal library data locally on your device using Apple’s local persistence technologies. This may include:

This local library data is not sent to the Watchora backend service. Watchora does not upload your personal notes, ratings, watch status, episode progress, or custom lists to a server.

Network Requests

Some Watchora features require an internet connection:

When you use Search or Discover, Watchora sends the necessary request to a Watchora backend service. For example, this may include a search query, a selected media identifier, or a media type such as movie or TV series. The backend service requests metadata from The Movie Database (TMDb) and returns the result to the app.

Watchora uses this network access only to provide the requested metadata and recommendation features. Search queries and metadata requests are not used for advertising or tracking by Watchora.

Posters and Images

Watchora may load poster images from public TMDb image URLs or related delivery infrastructure. When images are loaded, the image provider or network infrastructure may receive standard technical information necessary to deliver the image, such as your IP address, device network information, and request metadata.

Third-Party Services

Watchora uses the following services to provide metadata and network functionality:

TMDb Attribution

This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.

No Advertising or Tracking

Watchora does not include advertising, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not track you across apps or websites.

No User Accounts

Watchora does not require user accounts. Because there are no Watchora accounts, there is no account profile stored on Watchora servers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your library data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app from your device. You can delete saved media, remove items from custom lists, clear personal notes, or delete custom lists inside Watchora.

Deleting the Watchora app from your device removes the local app data from that device, subject to normal iOS behavior.

Children’s Privacy

Watchora is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not include accounts, advertising, or tracking.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
